Halal Cosmetic Products; Refers To Beauty Products Compliant With Islamic Standards

Cosmetic products that conform to the halal composition standard are halal

Halal cosmetic products are beauty products that do not contain any Haram ingredients derived from animals, genetically modified organisms that are confirmed as unclean according to Islamic law. Nor do they contain alcohol which has many negative effects on the skin. In simple words, these products are free from ingredients that are forbidden by the Islamic religion. They are Vegan and Cruelty-Free at the same time. Halal cosmetic products can be classified into color cosmetics, fragrances, hair care, and skincare products.

Moreover, in some countries of the Asia-Pacific (APAC), halal cosmetic products are certified by the Islamic religious department. Thus, there is an increasing demand for halal cosmetics among both Muslim and non-Muslim populations or in Asian countries, such as Turkey, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Furthermore, there is a growing demand for halal cosmetic products in the Southeast Asia region, as the region has the largest share of Muslims. For example, Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, with an estimated 229.6 million Muslims.

India is also considered a center for the export of halal products, as it is home to 10.9% of the world's Muslim population. As the demand for halal products increases, consumers will be seen inspecting the ingredients themselves, as they want to check the halal certificate to ensure that the ingredients are indeed Halal. The halal certificate ensures that the ingredients are genuine, and if genuine, that the methods used in their product meet Islamic requirements. Halal-certified product means that the product is acceptable/permissible according to Islamic law.

Consumers can easily identify if a product is truly halal-certified from the halal logo itself or the five-digit halal registration number on the packaging of the product. Thus, halal cosmetic products are gaining huge demand across the world, especially across Muslim regions, as these products are safe for both Muslims and non-Muslim consumers.
