These vehicle-to-vehicle (v2v) communication systems were initially developed for commercial vehicles to help drivers avoid or reduce accidents. They now have evolved to become components of comprehensive mobile and wireless car alarm systems. There are many advantages of using this technology, one being its versatility. This means that it is easy to attach it to the vehicles in any condition. It is also compact so that it can easily fit in any automobile. To make the most of the vehicle-to-vehicle (v2v) communication systems, one should have the data dissemination and display systems that support it.

Furthermore, the computers on the roadside units were susceptible to overheating that lead to data loss.
