Artificial intelligence for IT operations, or AIOps, refers to the use of AI or machine learning to evaluate huge amounts of data across several systems. AIOps solutions take advantage of this to improve root cause analysis (RCA) accuracy and proactive identification, which reduces time to resolution and helps improve service level agreement (SLA) adherence. The advantages of AIOps platforms are available to all IT teams.
Gartner coined the term "AIOps" in 2016. Gartner
defines AIOps platforms as "software systems that combine big data and
artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning functionality to enhance and
partially replace a broad range of IT operations processes and tasks, such as
availability and performance monitoring, event correlation and analysis, IT
service management and automation," according to the Market Guide for
AIOps Platforms.
Through the scalable ingestion and analysis of the
ever-increasing volume, variety, and velocity of data created by IT, an AIOps
platform integrates big data and machine learning functionality to support all
core IT operations functions. Multiple data sources, data gathering methods,
and analytical and presentation technologies can all be used at the same time
on the platform.
The research methodology for estimating and forecasting the AIOps
platform market size began with the collection and analysis of
data on key vendor revenues from secondary sources, such as annual reports and
press releases, investor presentations, conferences and associations, such as
the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), AAAI
Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-2017), technology journals,
certified publications, and a survey of AIOps platform users. The vendor
offerings were also taken into account while determining market segmentations.
